A Review of Roller Skating at the Rink in Rockefeller Center

New York City offers many entertaining destinations for people to visit, and one of those experiences includes roller skating at Rockefeller Center. Since the first year it was offered in 1936, ice-skating at Rockefeller Center has remained a popular activity for both tourists and residents, offering people the chance to participate in a fun winter sport in the heart of Manhattan. In the summer of 2022, the Rink at Rockefeller Center remained open in the summertime giving visitors the opportunity to roller skate in front of the Golden Statue of Prometheus that has become one of the better known symbols of the city that never sleeps.

The cost of roller skating in the Rink at Rockefeller Center is $20 per adult and $12 for kids that are 16 and under. There is an additional fee of $10 for rental skates for those who don’t want to drag a pair of their own skates around the city. This is slightly above what the cost of roller skating is in most cities, but the ambiance of the location justifies the price. The rink itself is made of a porous plastic composite, which reduces friction slightly more than the epoxy glazed floors of the typical roller rinks, making the Rink a bit more slippery for the people skating around it.
